• 2005 & 2008 Citizen of the Year by the Tri-City Association of REALTORS
• 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 Association of Washington Business (AWB) Cornerstone Award for supporting business statewide
• WEDA Leader award for WSU Tri-Cities becoming a 4 year institution
• Council of State Governments Legislative Leadership Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado - 2006 One or two legislators a year from each state are selected to attend the Legislative Leadership Academy. Representative Haler is one of three Washington State legislators selected of a total of 36 for the Western Legislative Leadership Academy class of 2006.
